When Amelia feels overwhelmed by the demands of her popstar life, she latches on to the idea of recreating her own version of Audrey Hepburn's Roman Holiday. Before she even makes it to the closest Rome, in Kentucky not Italy, her car breaks down in Noah's front yard. Since he's a decent human being, he let's her stay the night but can't wait to get the entitled princess out of his life.
What I Liked:
I have been a huge Audrey Hepburn fan for years, so adored Amelia’s devotion to the iconic actress and all of the parallels between When in Rome and Roman Holiday. It’s a different kind of retelling and you’ll be trying to figure out how Amelia and Noah will manage to avoid a similar heartbreaking ending to the film.
What Bothered Me:
Noah not having a cell phone or internet at his house felt a tad bit unrealistic but I suppose it’s technically possible.
Overall:
When in Rome is the perfect small town romance for Audrey Hepburn fans.
