Lady Sarah wants nothing more than a husband and blames her lack thereof on Hugh Prentice that caused a scandal in the family years earlier when he fought a duel with her cousin resulting in both being shot but Hugh almost died and was left with a ruined leg. Sarah and Hugh are forced into each other's company when he's invited to a series of weddings in her family in an effort to show that…

What I Liked:
It’s funny, I liked certain aspects of Sarah and Hugh, like her curiousity and his mathematical talents, however, there were other charcteristics of each that I didn’t care for, like her tendency toward dramatics and his self-loathing. I suppose that should make them feel more like real people though.

What Bothered Me:
The story didn’t pull me in like I had been hoping.

Overall:
It may be random, but this was my first Julia Quinn novel. I have watched the first three seasons of Bridgerton, so I was curious. I can see how it might appeal to lovers of Regency romance, but the particular characters of Sarah and Hugh didn’t speak to me personally.
