What I liked:
Evelyn Hugo is a deliciously complicated character who refuses to be put into any kind of box you could find for her. All of her character traits and the many flaws among them were only highlighted more by her celebrity lifestyle. It was easy to get immersed in the chapters written from her point of view.
What I didn’t like:
It was an interesting storytelling choice for the majority of the book to not be about the main character, Monique. However, she still shows character development as a result of her interactions with Evelyn Hugo.
Overall:
If you are interested in the glitz, glam, and drama of Hollywood in the mid 1900s and support individuals being who they are, then you will enjoy this read.
