Heat Rating:
Everything is going terrible for Nora and then she's granted the opportunity to go back to any choice she's ever made and see what her life would have been if she picked another option. Instead of just wondering what would have happened if she didn't quit swimming, if she didn't quit the band, if she didn't cancel her wedding, she can hop into that life and see if it's the one she fervently truly wants.

What I Liked:
I don’t think I’m alone in having wondered what my life would look like today if I had made different choices along the way, so the concept behind the Midnight Library was easy to get behind.

What Bothered Me:
I felt like the book’s blurb was somewhat misleading so was caught off guard to find that Nora is severely depressed and is struggling with the will to live for almost the entire book.

Overall:
I think The Midnight Library is an interesting thought experiment that is intended to be uplifting for individuals that have ever experienced depression. I can appreciate that intended message that we can all find a reason to live and make the most out of life, but the story mostly just made me sad.
