Mac asks fellow-doctor Noah to take a selfie to get Gran off her back, but he takes things one step further and asks her to be his fake mate to avoid being fired for being an unmated alpha wolf shifter. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement until feelings, I mean hormones, get involved.

What I Liked:
Mac asks fellow-doctor Noah to take a selfie to get Gran off her back, but he takes things one step further and asks her to be his fake mate to avoid being fired for being an unmated alpha wolf shifter. It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement until hormones and maybe something deeper get involved.

What Bothered Me:
The plot is very straight-forward and a lot of emphasis is given to the bedroom scenes. While the concept of an alpha knot might be risque and intriguing to many readers, I would have rather had an explanation of why it can supposedly only happen between an alpha and omega in place of multiple very drawn out bedroom scenes featuring the act.

Overall:
I think the Fake Mate could be a good opportunity for lovers of contemporary romance to get a taste of the omegaverse. The feel of the book is much more like the contemporary romance genre than what I would normally expect from a paranormal romance.
