Heat Rating:
Kay has trained for years to to become a formidable shadow guardian, but when her grandmother starts having dark visions and her best friends start acting strangely, she starts to uncover a dangerous plot. Without knowing who to trust she turns toward the attractive paramedic that help treat her injuries and to whom she felt immediately drawn.

What I Liked:
There were a lot of nice elements in Shadow Guardian. I liked the concept and world building surrounding the idea of Shadow Weavers with references to druid lore. I thought the technique of starting with a young Kay struggling to climb a tree with a shadow rope and ending with her easily using a shadow rope to accomplish her mission provided a nice contrast to show her growth over the years.

What I Didn’t Really Like:
I did not dislike anything specific, but I did have trouble getting emotionally engaged in the story.

Overall:
If you like a strong heroine with a supportive love interest and are in the mood for a paranormal romance but need a break from vampires and shifters, you might want to give Shadow Guardian a shot.
