What I Liked:
I enjoyed the plot of how Nat falls for the bad boy Kage. The suspense is high throughout until we finally find out what happened to Nat’s fiancé five years ago.
What I Didn’t Really Like:
I wasn’t able to relate well to Nat, so I never got super into the book. I know it happens in real life, but it bothered me a bit that Nat so frequently turned to alcohol to try to numb out rather than deal with the emotions she was feeling from the craziness of her life. I also would have loved to see the theme of her artwork developed just a little bit more.
Overall:
Super steamy scenes with a dominant male and a relatively innocent female exploring her sexuality are interspersed in a high suspense plot full of criminals and danger. Be warned that the epilogue is not really about the future for Nat and Kage but more of a cliffhanger with the characters of the next book to whet your appetite.
