What I Liked:
This book has some pretty epic pacing going on. Chapters alternate from the current time to vacations Poppy and Alex have taken in previous years. The reader slowly gets to know the characters and little teasers are mentioned, but not explained so you know it’s building to something profound and BOOM, everything falls apart. Following that, I also enjoyed the twist on the grand gesture trope.

What I Didn’t Really Like:
I didn’t really understand why what happened in Croatia would cause them to practically stop all communication for two full years.

Overall:
While this book can be categorized as both Women’s Fiction and Romantic Comedy, it leans a more heavily toward the former. It is very much about the journey that Poppy takes on her way to be in a place in her life that a relationship with Alex will work. Not to worry, there’s still a beautiful HEA.
