Heat Rating:
When Katy loses her mother, she loses herself as well and doesn't know how to function in her life without her. She decides to go on the mother-daughter trip she planned to Positano, Italy to help her decide what she wants to do with her life, including whether she should stay married to her husband, Eric. After arriving at the hotel, she runs into her mother from thirty years earlier.

What I Liked:
I appreciated how everything came together in the end to allow Katy to grow as a person and move on from the loss of her mother. Also, the descriptions of Positano, Italy made me want to visit and also very hungry.

What I Didn’t Really Like:
I wasn’t mentally prepped for the conflict over the idea of cheating in a marriage and I’m not sure I completely understood the role of Adam, the love interest.

Overall:
This was an interesting mix of women’s fiction and magical realism. My impression is conflicted because I really like some things like the descriptions of Italy, but the topics of loss and considering ending her marriage made it a very emotionally heavy story.
