Ten years ago Fern and Will spent an unforgettable day today but the timing wasn't right. They made a promise to meet at the lake of Fern's family resort a year later but Will never showed and broke Fern's heart. Now, after Fern's mother dies and she inherits the failing resort, Will shows up offering to help but she doesn't want to be let down again.

What I Liked:
Meet Me at the Lake ticks all the boxes for an emotional contemporary romance and includes the well loved trope of soulmates with terrible timing. Both Fern and Will need to go sort through a lot of emotional baggage before they are ready to finally be together.

What I Didn’t Really Like:
It didn’t bother me, but you should reach for this one when you’re in the mood for something more predictable without any crazy twists. I’m not always a fan of dual timelines, but I thought it worked pretty well for this story.

Overall:
Meet Me at the Lake is an emotional story that I found easy to relate to as someone in their mid-thirties and has a life that is nowhere near anything I thought I wanted ten years ago.
