Kate is officially the alpha female of all shifters in Atlanta, but she's trying to startup her own P.I business to maintain her own identity and sense of independence. Her first real case just so happens to involve the complete destruction of life in Atlanta for anyone magical, including everyone she cares about.

What I Liked:
Sometimes I have trouble holding interest in a series after the two partners finally get together. I was so happy for that NOT to be the case with Magic Slays. New information comes to light that makes Kate question things until they talk about it and she can be reassured, which creates a nice romance arc to go along with all the action you expect in the Kate Daniels series.

What I Didn’t Really Like:
Nothing specific pops into mind, but if you’re sensitive about kids getting caught in the crossfire, this one might be difficult for you.

Overall:
If you enjoy characters solving a case in a gritty world filled with magic and risking love on the side, you should check out Magic Slays.
