Heat Rating:
Elsie is a struggling adjunct professor that can barely pay rent let alone afford her diabetes medication. To make ends meet she works for an app that connects her with clients in need of a fake girlfriend and she makes a game of becoming whoever they need her to be. It all backfires when she gets an interview for her dream job as a physicist researcher and it turns out she's met someone on the…

What I Liked:
While not nearly enough women will be able to relate to Elsie in her pursuit of a tenured position at a prestigious research institution, I think many women have experienced the desire or even need to act in certain ways with specific people in the vain hope that they will be liked. I think Love, Theoretically hits a good balance between normal character quirks and providing insight into the drama that can ensue in the world of academia.

What Bothered Me:
When the book stared with Elsie earning extra cash as a fake girlfriend, I was a little skeptical that was realistic for a physicist but in the end, I think it worked out.

Overall:
If you have enjoyed the other books in The Love Hypothesis series or are a romance reader with experience in the academic arena, you should check out Love, Theoretically.
