Sadie is a struggling portrait artist on the verge of her big break when she has an accident, brain surgery, and complications that leave her literally unable to see faces. She has to get to know herself and others in a whole new way as she waits to see if her condition will resolve or she'll be stuck this way forever.

What I Liked:
Sadie was an interesting protagonist even outside of her having the rare condition of face blindness. The ways that she keeps the memory of her mom present with her clothes, celebrating her birthday, and roller skating are really sweet.

What I Didn’t Really Like:
The development was really focused on Sadie and while her love interest had some trauma in the past, it was unclear whether he really grew to overcome it outside of just feeling better when spending time with Sadie.

Overall:
What Katherine Center shares during the author’s note resonated with me. Yes, some may say that the plot in Hello Stranger is predictable, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Sure, I guessed the plot a quarter of the way in, but I still enjoyed the journey and would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys clean and light romantic comedy.
