What I Liked:
There was nothing inherently wrong with the plot surrounding the main characters.
What I Didn’t Really Like:
I had trouble getting through this book. One of the main reasons was that the dialogue didn’t flow naturally for me. There was more than a few times I found myself thinking that a normal person would never say something like that. I felt like the POVs of the main character’s best friends, Molly and Michael, were not necessary, but understand the intent to start building those characters for follow-on books in the series. My biggest complaint is the ending. I’m a huge fan of HEA, which is why I read so much romance. Ending this book with Molly’s tragedy and on a cliffhanger did not have the desired effect of making me want to jump right in to the next book.
Overall:
I almost didn’t finish this book, which is very rare for me. There are so many other good sports romances out there that I have no desire to finish reading the series. I do plan to read some of the author’s more recent books with the hope that they will be more up my alley.
