What I Liked:
Seeing as Cas is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends, I enjoyed seeing the events from the first Blood and Ash book from his POV. It provided some insights into what was going on with him that were not apparent to Poppy as it was happening.
What I Didn’t Really Like:
I was a little conflicted about the lack of forward progress in the overall plot, since most of the book is recounting what happened previously. Also, the teasers and the cliffhanger ending are driving me nuts.
Overall:
If you enjoy the Blood and Ash series and are a Casteel fan like me, you will enjoy a Soul of Ash and Blood. While very little happens in the present timeline, the contents enrich the overall story and will leave you desperate for the next book to come out.
