Heat Rating:
Kendra is an FBI agent part of an operation that goes wrong. She goes rogue to avenge her teammates, only things take an unexpected turn when she finds herself in 1815 England and evidence of a serial killer is found in the lake.

What I Liked:
This wasn’t my usual genre, but I finally got into the book when Kendra finds herself in Regency England, which is more similar to something I would normally read minus the serial killers. I can’t imagine the amount of research the author had to do in order to seemlessly integrate aspects of what Kendra knew from the current time about forensic investigations and profiling and what early 19th century England was like.

What Bothered Me:
I’m assuming it will become clearer later in the series, but so far I’m having a hard time understanding why Kendra’s current day actions relate to the timetravel other than it being a weird happenstance event.

Overall:
A Murder in Time would be a great pick for anyone likes murder mystery and historical fiction. There are some romance elements but it’s not the primary story arc.

The Last Word:

I finished Ripples in Time where Kendra’s story comes to a happy conclusion and I enjoyed the series. While murder mysteries aren’t my usual genre of choice, there was enough of a historical romance plot that it wasn’t outside my comfort zone. Honestly, the bit in the first book that takes place in the present timeline was my least favorite aspect of the series, but things got much better once Kendra arrived in Regency England.
