Paisley embarks on her freshman year at Weatherstone College for witches and warlocks. Her father almost makes her defer upon finding out Logan Kingston has transferred in fearing his father will use him to fulfill a blood oath to destroy their family. Only Logan has the mysterious tendency to save Paisley's life especially when monsters start to attack.

What I Liked:
Spellcaster combines so many of my favorite tropes like a magical boarding school/college, enemies to lovers, and an FMC who needs to find her strength. The standout to me though was how the story managed to be relatively spicy while also a slow burn.
Fair Warning:
There are quite a few plot points that are intentionally left unresolved in the first book, which I was fine with until I realized the second book was NOT available on KU. There went my plans to ready Night Witch on release day. Now I'm sitting in cliffhanger purgatory while I wait for my hold on Libby.
Overall:
If you like school settings and the paranormal romance genre give Spellcaster a read. I would not classify this one as a romantasy and it is firmly New Adult with an FMC who is trying to find herself. Spellcaster will not be the perfect read for everyone, but it provided me with a few hours of fun escapism.
