REVIEW
What I Liked:
Saeris's will to survive and take care of her brother in such an unforgiving setting makes her instantly relatable. Kingfisher is built up as a great example of an alpha male who is a rude bastard for a long list of very good reasons. The combination of slow burn and the inclusion of multiple potential love interests increases the suspense and intensity of the romance arc.
Fair Warning:
Quicksilver is NOT a why choose romance. I felt like one male character was a bit of a red herring love interest, but I'm assuming his role will become clear in the following books.
Overall:
Quicksilver felt to me like what would result if ACOTAR by Sarah J. Maas had a baby with Shadow Beast Shifters by Jaymin Eve. It is part of an incomplete trilogy (third book to come out 11/20/26), but Quicksilver has a satisfying ending that won't leave you pulling your hair out. There is a bit of a cliffhanger, but I'm just looking forward to getting my hands on the next while I bask in the glow of having finished an excellent book.
