REVIEW
What I Liked:
I love when the FMC starts out as seemingly weak and inconsequential only to have fate provide the opportunity to find her strength. It's even better when it's the MMC who sees the spark of greatness and gives her the push she needs. The tension of the slow-burn, impossible love is delicious. The secrets, revelations, and subsequent mysteries keep the plot moving quickly.
Fair Warning:
Shield of Sparrows gave me reading insomnia. I tossed and turned wondering what would happen next until I gave in a read half the night. Despite being over 650 pages, I finished in two days.
Overall:
Shield of Sparrows is highly recommended for romantasy lovers. In some ways it reminded me of The Plated Prisoner series and A Dawn of Onyx. The second book in the trilogy is released April 7th, but it will be a while for the third.
