Alex is a 17-year-old half-blood that's been on the run with her mom for three years until the daimons finally find them and kill her mom. Without anywhere else safe to go, she returns to the Covenant and has to convince them to let her continue training to become a Sentinel and avoid becoming a servant to the pure-bloods.

REVIEW

What I Liked:
Half-Blood has a few similarities to Vampire Academy with a girl that's been on the run and ends up returning to school and having a loved one turn into an evil entity, which I personally enjoyed. Who doesn't love a little forbidden love with the hot instructor that volunteers to get the FMC back on track with her training?

Fair Warning:
A second potential future love interest is introduced for anyone that loves/hates love triangles.

Overall:
If you're a fan of Vampire Academy and Greek mythology or even just snarky FMCs that fall for a forbidden love, then Half-Blood is perfect for you. There is a prequel, Daimon, that goes into more detail about Alex's life in the mortal world and how her mom dies, but it's not strictly necessary if you want to dive right in to Half-Blood.
