REVIEW
What I Liked:
This was my first Stephen King novel, but a friend convinced me to give it a try because at it's heart it is an epic fantasy and I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed the fairy tale themes that are threaded throughout and the concept is developed well enough that you start to wonder whether there could really be a portal to another world hidden away, if only you knew where to look.
Fair Warning:
The portion of the book where Charlie is living his normal life in the real world before discovering the other world is longer than I had anticipated, but I think it's worth it to push through and pay attention to the details.
Overall:
If you like fantasy and suspense you should check out Fairy Tale. It is not horror or truly scary suspense, but rather a fantasy that explores the potential origins of how fairy tales get passed into our world.
