A not-so-small hole opens up in the ceiling of Rosie's apartment, so she uses her spare key to stay at her bestie's while she away on her honeymoon. When someone else tries to get in, she literally calls the cops only to find out Lucas has permission from his cousin to stay at her place for a few weeks while he visits NYC from Spain. After a rocky start, they agree to share the apartment until Rosie's apartment is fixed up. It's only slightly awkward that he's the subject of Rosie's online crush for the past few months and there's only one bed in the studio apartment.

What I Liked:I really liked that Rosie is an engineer turned romance writer, because woman can do whatever they put their minds to accomplish and sometimes it takes a while to find your true calling. Lucas was super swoon-worthy having his ex-professional surfer body and amazing skills in the kitchen, which might be a new favorite combo.
What Bothered Me:The story felt a little on the long side to me. There were some pieces of the story that I think could have been pretty easily removed, like the situation with Rosie's brother, Ollie.
Overall:If you liked The Spanish Love Deception, this is a fun follow-up, but maybe not immediately back-to-back because the fake dating theme the struggles to identify what's real is very similar. While the two books are standalones, I think some of the side-characters will make sense if you read The Spanish Love Deception first.
