REVIEW POSTED ONLINE: APR 12, 2025

Nesta's time drinking and f***ing herself into oblivion is put to an end when her family forces her to start training to be a warrior and working in the private library staffed by females that have been wronged by the world and in need of refuge. The worst part is that Cassian is her trainer and every interaction they have ends in an argument even if there's an undeniable attraction. Beyond the Night Court, the human queens are still a threat to the peace that Nesta's sister, Feyre, and her brother-in-law, Rhysand, are so desperately trying to keep. Nesta will need to conquer her inner demons in order to play the role that's needed to prevent another war.

REVIEW

What I Liked:
There were so many things that I liked about A Court of Silver Flames, but I think my favorite was how Nesta and her close friends take it upon themselves to bring back the order of the Valkyrie and overcome their traumas and doubts to become a stronger version of themselves. I also really liked that this book brought forward the overarching plot of the series while focusing on the new couple of Nesta and Cassian coming together.

What Bothered Me:
It was a little hard to read of Nesta struggling with her trauma and depression but I think it was important to show how low she had gotten so her build-up was that much more impactful.

Overall:
A Court of Thorns and Roses is new favorite series by Sarah J. Maas. A Court of Silver Flames finishes so strong and pulled me into the story just as much as the first. It is romantic fantasy at it’s best.
