Nine years ago, Rhys broke teenage Vivienne's heart so thoroughly that she drunkenly cursed him without realizing it actually worked. Now Rhys is back in town and things start to go awry so Vivienne is forced to work with her old love in order to save the town.

What I Liked:
I was attracted to the concept for the book, because who hasn’t imaging cursing someone that broke their heart. There are plenty of comedic moments, especially as magic starts to go haywire around town.

What I Didn’t Really Like:
I would have preferred if both Rhys and Vivienne were more conflicted over seeing one another again. They both seemed to jump directly to curious even though the break-up was pretty brutal from both sides. That could just be my love of enemies-to-lovers coming out.

Overall:
In some ways this reminded me of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. Vivienne’s path to realizing her power feels very much like women’s fiction, more so than a typical paranormal romance.
